I have finally taken the decision to convert to digital equipment & retire my trusty old 6x7. This decision was mainly based on film & processing costs, not to mention the convenience of accessing your image as soon as it is taken. At first this gallery will be a mixture of digital images, then in the future, I will arrange them into their respective galleries.

In 1981, the last full year of the Deltics, I decided it was time to record as many of the class as I could on film, "well, better late than never", so, I bought myself a 35mm Chinon C4 along with a cheap zoom lens. With a combination of the cheap glass & grainy Kodak Ektachrome 200 slide film, most of the images are, unfortunately, poor quality. The images in this collection are what I consider to be the best out of a bad bunch, in terms of quality, although, I have included one or two which were border line. Image quality aside, they still serve as a record & reminder of the traction in the region in that final year of the 55s.

In the 1980s I would rarely take images of HSTs, and only did so whilst waiting for more favourable traction or when the conditions were exeptional to coax me into doing so. In this collection are what I consider the best of what I had taken at that time, and on reflection I'am pleased I did so.
